See Section R301.1. The interior wall partition to be <br /> removed is a non-load bearing wall. <br /> Details for the construction of the new walls should be included. The details should specify connections <br /> for the top and bottom framing plates to the existing structure. The details should include headers <br /> (e.g., garage wall supporting roof, etc.). See Sections R106.1.1, R301.1, R602.4, and R602.7. <br /> New interior partition to have 2x4 studs @ 16"o.c. with double top plates lap splices at 48 inches and <br /> 2x4 bottom plate.
