CITY OF EVERETT - CITYWIDE BICYCLE WAYFINDING <br />STATE FUND# HLP-PB21(014) <br />WO#3786 September 25, 2023 <br /> 53 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 <br />DIVISION8.GR8 3 <br />Division 8 4 <br />Miscellaneous Construction 5 <br /> 6 <br />COE 8-21 SIGNING.RTF 7 <br />8-21 PERMANENT SIGNING 8 <br /> 9 <br />8-21.1 Description 10 <br /> 11 <br />Permanent signing shall be installed in accordance with Section 8-21 of the Standard 12 <br />Specifications with the following modifications: 13 <br /> 14 <br />Traffic regulatory signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 716. 15 <br />Street name signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 715 or 717 16 <br />and 718 as indicated on the plans. 17 <br /> 18 <br />8-21.2 Materials 19 <br /> 20 <br />This section is revised to read: 21 <br /> 22 <br />All signs shown in the plans with a mounting height of 14 feet and below shall be 23 <br />manufactured with a protective overlay film. The protective overlay film shall be a 24 <br />transparent, self adhesive film that is solvent resistant and approved for use by the 25 <br />reflective sheeting manufacturer. 26 <br /> 27 <br />8-21.2(1) Equipment List and Drawings 28 <br /> 29 <br />A) Shop Drawings for Signs: Within 20 days following execution of the contract, 30 <br />or approval of subcontractor, the contractor shall submit shop drawings for 31 <br />the traffic signs to be used on the project. Within 20 days following approval 32 <br />of the shop drawings, the contractor shall submit a letter to the engineer 33 <br />certifying that the signs have been ordered and certifying the manufacturer’s 34 <br />planned delivery date. 35 <br /> 36 <br />The traffic signs shall be approved by the engineer in writing prior to the actual 37 <br />ordering of the equipment. 38 <br /> 39 <br /> 40 <br />8-21.3 Construction Requirements 41 <br /> 42 <br />8-21.3(4) Sign Removal 43 <br /> 44 <br />This section is revised to read: 45 <br /> 46 <br />Where shown in the Plans or ordered by the Engineer, the existing signs and, if so 47 <br />indicated, the sign structures shall be removed by the Contractor. Where indicated, 48 <br />the Contractor shall remove concrete pedestals to a minimum of 1 foot below finished 49 <br />grade and backfill the hole to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
