The proposed project is required to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors <br />per IRC Sections R314.2.2 and R315.2.2. <br />R: REF. A1.7 <br />17. The proposed project is required to comply with the residential provisions of the <br />2015 Washington State Energy Code for new construction. See WSEC Sections <br />502.1 and 503.1. Requirements include but are not limited to: <br />a. Minimum wall thermal rating of R-21 per Table 402.1.1. <br />b. Minimum roof thermal rating of R-38 per Table 402.1.1 Footnote (k). <br />c. Below grade walls insulated per Table R402.1.1. <br />d. Minimum foundation thermal rating of R-10 for two feet per Table 402.1.1. <br />e. Windows and doors should have a maximum thermal rating of U=30 per <br />Table 402.1.1. <br />f. Each dwelling unit should complete with the energy efficiency requirements of <br />Section 406. The selected energy credits per Table R406.2 should be specified <br />in the drawings. Separate credits should be specified for each unit. <br />18. The proposed project should specify ventilation and exhaust for each unit per <br />IRC Section R303. The units should include a whole house ventilation system. <br />R: REF. A1.7 <br />19. The proposed project should specify exhaust for each unit per IRC Chapter 15. <br />Exhaust fans should be provided in each bathroom, laundry room and over kitchen <br />ranges. <br />R: REF. A1.7 <br />20. The project should specify heating and cooling systems for each unit per IRC <br />Chapter 14. <br />This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as <br />adopted and amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections <br />and comments made during the review process do not relieve the project from <br />compliance with code and permit requirements.
