i L • • ORDINANCE NO. 2450 An Ordinance providing for the acquisition by condemna- tion, of lands, water, water rights, easements, rights-of-way, privileges, franchises and property necessary or convenient for the proper construction, control, maintenance and operation of the proposed additional water supr(;ly system for the City of Ev- erett, and additions, betterments and extensions thereto, in- cluding the construction of a diversion dam and intake on the Sultan River in Township Twenty-nine (29 ), North Range Eight (8 ), E. W. M., also a pipe line and tunnel from said int ake' to Lake Chaplain, also a dam, spillway and control works for stor- age of water in Lake Chaplain, also a pipe line from Lake Chap- lain to a connection with the existing water system of the Ci- ty of Everett; directing the City Attorney to institute con-. demnation proceedings for the purpose of acquiring said land and other rights, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Everett voting at a special election held for that purpose on the 4th day of May, 1929, ratified the system or plan proposed in Ordinance No. 2433 of said city, which ordinance proposed to' the voters of the City of Everett that the City of Everett make additions, betterments and extensions to its present water supply system by the construction of a diversion dam and intake on the Sultan Riv- er in Township 29, North Range 8, E. W. M., also a pipe line and tunnel from said intake to Lake Chaplain, also a dam, spillway and control works for storage of water in Lake Chaplain, also a pipe line from Lake Chaplain to a connection with the existing water system of the City of Everett, also all necessary valves, blowoffs, tunnels, bridges and other structures and appurten- ances necessary for the construction, control, maintenance and operation of said pipe line, also such improvements to the ex- isting water system in Everett as are necessary to make the
