3
Vince Bruscas
June 24,2019
Page 4
All detections of volatile organic compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in
soil boring samples were below their respective MTCA Method A or Method B _
standards. Volatile organic compounds were detected in one of three test pit samples
analyzed for them. All detections were below their respective MTCA Method A or
Method B standards. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were detected in all five test pit
samples analyzed for them with two of forty-seven detections exceeding their respective
MTCA Method A or Method B standards. A grab groundwater sample was collected
from one soil boring and analyzed for gasoline, diesel, oil, arsenic, cadmium, chromium,
r:
lead, mercury, volatile organic compounds, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. There
were no detections of gasoline, diesel, oil, cadmium, volatile organic compounds, or
polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the sample. Detections of arsenic, chromium, and is
lead exceeded their respective MTCA Method A or Method B standards while the
detection of mercury did not exceed the MTCA Method A standard.
In January of 2018,three additional soil borings, eleven test pits, and four groundwater
monitoring wells were installed on site. One to two soil samples were collected fiom soil
each boring and analyzed for diesel, oil,and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Diesel
and oil were detected in three of five soil samples with all detections being below the
respective MTCA Method A standards. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were detected
in four of five soil boring samples with one of four detections exceeding the MTCA
Method A standard. Two soil samples from one soil boring were analyzed for six volatile
organic compounds. One volatile organic compound(acetone)was detected at a
concentration below its MTCA Method B standard. Three of four soil boring samples
were analyzed for arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury. Cadmium was not
detected in any of the three samples. All detections of arsenic, chromium, lead, and
mercury were below their respective MTCA Method A standards. Two to four soil
samples were collected from each monitoring well boring and analyzed for the same
analytes plus gasoline. Gasoline was not detected in the one soil sample it was analyzed
for. Diesel and oil were detected in three of six monitoring well samples with oil, but not
diesel being detected in a fourth monitoring well sample. All detections of diesel and oil
n
were below their respective MTCA Method A standards. Polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons were detected in four of six monitoring well samples with two of four
detections exceeding the MTCA Method A standard. Two monitoring well soil samples
were analyzed for arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury. Cadmium was not r
detected in either sample. All detections of arsenic, chromium, lead, and mercury were
below their respective MTCA Method A standards. Gasoline was not detected in the one '!
test pit soil sample that it was analyzed for. Diesel and oil were detected in one of
sixteen test pit soil samples with oil being detected in a second test pit soil sample. All
E
detections were below their respective MTCA Method A standards. Polycyclic aromatic k
hydrocarbons were detected in four of seventeen test pit soil samples. All detections
were below their respective MTCA Method A or Method B standards. ry
4
A
1
1
