The structural drawings should include a schedule of fasteners per Table R602.3(1). Note that providing a reference to this table in the drawings does not satisfy this requirement. See S-5.0 2. The construction drawings should specify a minimum of one king and one jack stud at each end of beams and headers. Additional studs should be specified as required. See Section R602.7.4. Already on sheet 2 — Roof framing /-The required length for the shear walls, as determined by analysis, should be specified in the Floor Plan on Sheet 1. See Section R301.1.3 and IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1. See sht 1 4. The Floor Plan on Sheet 1 appears to indicate 2x10 "Loft"framing spanning in the east-west direction. See Section R106.1.1. The following comments should be addressed: /a! Section A/Sheet 2 appears to show the framing spanning in the north-south direction. The drawings should be revised for consistency. A/2 drawing is consistent J' The east-west orientation appears to require additional headers, notably at the closet window. The bathroom doorway appears to indicate a header; the framing should be clearly shown in the plans. 4x8 hdr typ ono — clearly sated on the plan already — See sht2 — Roof framing c. Section A/Sheet 2 references a "Ledger"detail that is not provided. The"Ledger Detail"on Sheet 3 is for attachment of a deck to a house via the rim joist, and is not applicable. See Section A/2. 5. The building includes cantilever sheathing along the rake edges of the roof. The following comments should be addressed: a. The rake dimension should be specified in the drawings. See Section R106.1.1. b. The rake is required to be provided with structural support if it exceeds 9 inches. A detail for this condition should be included in the construction drawings. The detail should provide sufficient backspan and connections for the framing to support the design roof loads. See Sections R301.1 and R803.2.3.
