January 17, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 17, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Council Members Zarlingo, Vogeli, Bader, Rhyne, Tuohy, and <br />President Schwab were present. Mayor Franklin and Council Member Fosse were excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 10, 2024 meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin was excused. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council received two (2) written comments, and the following member of the public spoke: <br />Roxana Boroujerdi, Sarah Olson, Susy Thomson, Ryan Stenhouse, and Chelsea Gray. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Comments and liaison reports were provided by council members. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne requested Administration to follow up with the community members <br />who were affected by the water pressure breakage issues that were brought up by public <br />commentors. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne made a motion, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to add a section to <br />the City’s procurement policy which bars any contractor who has willfully engaged in wage theft <br />from being able to contract with the City of Everett for five years from the date of infraction. <br /> <br />City Attorney and Administration will work on reviewing over the draft ordinance, provided by <br />Council Member Rhyne, to be brought forward to council at a future council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
