City of Everett 01 12 16 - 1 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility - Demolition Package WO# UP-3525 <br />01 12 16 - 1 WORK SEQUENCE <br />SECTION 01 12 16 - WORK SEQUENCE <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br />A.This Section specifies project milestones, construction sequencing requirements, <br />work restrictions, and constraints for the Work associated with Port Gardner Storage <br />Facility – Demolition Package. <br />1.2 CONTINUITY OF PLANT OPERATIONS <br />A.The existing site facilities are mostly not active. Remaining active facilities include <br />swale dewatering pump station at the southern part of the site, which discharges site <br />stormwater to the existing secondary clarifier tanks, City material storage, site security <br />lighting, and sump pumping at the old chemical storage building and sludge pump <br />station. Continuation of operations will need to be coordinated with the City <br />throughout the demolition package. Instructions for continuation of operations are <br />described in the Drawings and Specifications. <br />B.The Area 60 Sludge Pump Station is connected via 32” pipe to the facility deep water <br />outfall (DWO). The site DWO pipe is connected with an active outfall pipe offsite <br />which may be under pressure. <br />C.Contractor to provide temporary power to swale and sump pump equipment identified <br />in the Drawings. Contractor shall ensure swale and sump pump equipment, force <br />main paths, and discharge points remain available throughout construction. Provide <br />temporary facilities where existing flow paths are disrupted by construction activities. <br />D.Contractor shall provide confined space entry controls per the City’s and Contractor’s <br />Health and Safety Plans. <br />1.3 BYPASSING (NOT USED) <br />1.4 DEWATERING <br />A.Refer to Section 31 23 19 Dewatering. <br />1.5 DEFINITIONS <br />A.Method of Procedure (MOP): A detailed plan prepared and submitted by the <br />Contractor to request system shutdowns, utility tie-ins, and demolition work in areas <br />that may result in unanticipated outages, or flow bypass to accommodate execution of <br />the Work.
