• •
Thanks for your help looking into this to make sure everything is correct. I've attached the original permit that I
submitted and was subsequently approved (First Permit Application.pdf).When I took out this permit myself, I was
under a very rushed timeline so I apologize if I did something incorrectly. The intent, from what I understood at the
time, is that this permit would cover removal of the unpermitted work and would be amended later to include
reconstruction (the tight timeline is why I didn't include reconstruction in the initial submission). I thought this would
all be covered under the same permit and this is why I'm not following statements about new scopes of work. I came
up with the valuation based on$50/sqft for a basement remodel.
I've also attached the permit that my contractor submitted several weeks ago that we're still waiting on approval for
(SMART Submitted Building Permit.pdf).This is what I was expecting to be an amendment to the currently existing
permit to include the reconstruction.SMART came up with the valuation using the cost they are billing us for.
I apologize if I've made things complicated by trying to do this myself then handing it off to my contractor, but again
the intent here is one project: a basement remodel to remove unpermitted work and build it back. Is there something
we need to do to ensure I don't pay for two separate permits when only one is required?
Thanks,
Ian
On Tue, Dec 13, 2022 at 8:53 AM Cindy Bergsma<CBergsmaPeverettwa.gov>wrote:
Hello,
This is for brand new scope. No credits are allowable. This is why I sent the email to make sure the valuation is only
for the new scope.
Keep in mind that this is just the plan check fee for submittal. Building fees come at the end.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you,
3 5
