1 • of a bulkhead, and rip rap where necessary, hydraulic fill; also construction of a one-course Portland cement concrete pavement, removal of old trestle, installation of necessary drainage, erection of guard railing, making necessary water main changes and doing all other work to make a complete im- provement in accordance with plans to be prepared by the city engineer, also the cost of acquiring by purchase or condemna- tion, or both, any right-of-way necessary for the construc- tion of such improvement. The two statements of said proposition above set forth shall be printed on a single sheet and opposite and to the right of each statement of the proposition to be voted upon there shall be printe_ a blank square within which the voter shall, by making an X indi- cate whether he voted in favor of or against the proposition sub- mitted. In the event that voting machines instead of ballots are used at such election then the two statements shall be placed upon said voting machines and the voter, instead of placing an X in the square opposite the statement of the proposition on the ballot for which he wishes to vote, shall pull the lever on the machine corresponding with the statement of the proposition for which he desires to vote. Section 5: If, at the election held as provided in this ordinance three-fifths (3/5) of the qualified votersof the cite,- of Everett voting at said election upon the proposition hereinbefore in this ordinance set forth, shall vote in favor of said proposition, thereupon the proposition described in this ordinance for the issu- ance of bonds of the city of Everett in a sum not to exceed 450, 000. for the purpose of paying said city's share of the cost of the im- provement of the following described roadway, to-wit: beginning at the south line of 21st Street; thence northerly along the Norton Avenue extension to a point opposite the Irving-Daugherty bill at -4-
