RETENTION TIME FOR THE PROTECTED SPACE SHALL BE VERIFIED BY A ROOM INTEGRITY TEST PERFORMED IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 2001 2018 EDITION. <br />CLEAN AGENT PIPING SYSTEM NOTES: <br />1. REFER TO SYSTEM DRAWINGS AND CALCULATIONS FOR THE LOCATION AND LAYOUT OF THE CLEAN AGENT <br />DISTRIBUTION PIPING SYSTEM. EXAMINE THE CONFIGURATION OF THE PIPING SYSTEM TO ENSURE THE PIPING AND <br />DISCHARGE NOZZLES DO NOT INTERFERE WITH ANY ON SITE PHYSICAL OBSTRUCTIONS WITHIN THE CLEAN AGENT <br />HAZARD AREA BEFORE THE PIPING INSTALLATION BEGINS. SHOULD ANY CONFLICTS OCCUR NOTIFY SUPPRESSION <br />SYSTEMS INC. TO MAKE THE REQUIRED ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SYSTEM DRAWINGS AND HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS <br />PRIOR TO BEGINNING PIPING INSTALLATION. ANY DEVIATIONS IN THE ROUTING OF THE PIPE NETWORK SHALL BE <br />VERIFIED AND APPROVED BY SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS INC. <br />2. CLEAN AGENT SUPPRESSION SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED AND TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 2001 CURRENT <br />ADDITION, AS WELL AS ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL CODES. DO NOT HYDROSTATIC TEST. PNEUMATIC PRESSURE TEST <br />WITH AIR OR N2 TO 40 PSI FOR 10 MINUTES. AT THE END OF 10 MINUTES SHALL NOT DROP BELOW 20% OF THE <br />TEST PRESSURE. <br />3. PIPING MATERIAL MUST CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN NFPA 2001, CURRENT EDITION. SCHEDULE 40 <br />OR SCHEDULE 80 PIPE (BLACK OR GALVANIZED) MUST CONFORM TO ASTM A53 OR A106. ORDINARY CAST IRON PIPE, <br />STEEL PIPE CONFORMING TO ASTM-120, OR NONMETALLIC PIPE SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BE USED. <br />4. PIPE FITTINGS MUST CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED IN NFPA 2001, CURRENT EDITION. MALLEABLE IRON <br />FITTINGS (BLACK OR GALVANIZED) SHALL BE 300 LB. CLASS THAT CONFORM TO ASTM SPECIFICATION A-197. 150 LB. <br />CLASS FITTINGS AND ORDINARY CAST IRON FITTINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED. ONLY LISTED GROOVED, THREADED, <br />WELDED OR FLANGED FITTINGS MAY BE USED, PROVIDED THEY CONFORM TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS. HOLE CUT <br />FITTINGS MAY NOT BE USED. <br />5. ALL PIPE JOINING METHODS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 2001 CURRENT ADDITION. TEFLON TAPE IS <br />RECOMMENDED AND SHALL BE USED WITH ALL THREADED PIPING CONNECTIONS. THREADED PIPE AND FITTINGS <br />SHALL BE TAPERED IN CONFORMANCE WITH ANSI SPECIFICATION B-20.1. ALL GROOVED PIPING CONNECTIONS SHALL <br />BE BE LUBRICATED PER MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. <br />6. ALL PIPING MUST BE RIGIDLY SUPPORTED BY A COMBINATION OF PIPE HANGERS AND RIGID SUPPORT BRACKETS. PIPE <br />HANGERS ARE USED TO SUPPORT THE "DEAD LOAD" OF THE PIPING SYSTEM AND SHALL BE SPACED AT INTERVALS NOT <br />EXCEEDING 15 FEET. RIGID SUPPORTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE "LIVE LOAD" OF THE PIPING SYSTEM DURING <br />DISCHARGE. RIGID BRACING IS REQUIRED AT EACH DIRECTIONAL CHANGE - 90° ELBOW, TEE AND NOZZLE. ALL 180" <br />NOZZLES REQUIRE BACK -BRACING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE DISCHARGE PATTERN. EARTHQUAKE BRACING <br />SHALL BE USED WHERE REQUIRED BY LOCAL CODE. REFER TO ANSI B31.1 FOR BRACING REQUIREMENTS. <br />7. REDUCTIONS IN PIPE SIZE SHALL BE DIRECTLY AFTER A TEE WITH THE TEE BEING THE SAME PIPE SIZE AS THE INLET <br />LINE TO THE TEE. REDUCTIONS IN PIPE SIZE MAY ALSO BE MADE USING A CONCENTRIC BELL REDUCER AFTER A <br />UNION, PROVIDED THE NEXT CHANGE IN DIRECTION (TEE) IS LOCATED A MINIMUM OF 10 PIPE DIAMETERS <br />DOWNSTREAM OF THE CONCENTRIC BELL REDUCER. CONCENTRIC BELL REDUCERS OR CONCENTRIC REDUCING <br />COUPLINGS SHALL BE USED TO MAKE ALL REDUCTIONS IN PIPE SIZE. REDUCING BUSHINGS, WELD-O-LETS AND HOLE <br />CUT FITTINGS SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED. <br />8. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER WITH "GOOD COMMERCIAL PRACTICE". ALL PIPING <br />AND FITTINGS MUST BE REAMED, BLOWN CLEAN AND SWABBED WITH A CLEANING SOLVENT TO REMOVE DIRT, RUST <br />AND OIL. <br />9. PIPE REDUCTIONS MADE DIRECTLY AFTER A CHANGE IN DIRECTION, WITH THE FITTING BEING THE SAME PIPE SIZE AS <br />THE INLET, SHALL BE MADE USING A COMMON CONCENTRIC BELL REDUCER. REDUCING BUSHINGS ARE NOT <br />ACCEPTABLE (UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED). A MINIMUM OF 10 PIPE DIAMETERS MUST BE MAINTAINED FROM THE <br />CENTER OF THE FITTING TO THE CENTER OF THE NEXT CHANGE IN DIRECTION. <br />10. WHEN BRACING THE PIPING CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO INSURE THE NOZZLE LOCATIONS ARE WITHIN ONE FOOT OF <br />THE LOCATIONS SHOWN ON THE SYSTEM PLANS. CORRECT NOZZLES SHALL BE INSTALLED EXACTLY IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH THE SYSTEM PLANS. NOZZLES SHALL BE INSTALLED PERPENDICULAR TO THE CEILING FOR PROPER <br />DISTRIBUTION PATTERNS. 180° NOZZLES SHALL BE ALIGNED WITH THE ORIFICE HOLES ORIENTED PARALLEL TO THE <br />ADJACENT WALLS SO NO DIRECT WALL IMPINGEMENT OF THE AGENT OCCURS. <br />11. FINAL INSTALLATION ACCEPTANCE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 2001 CURRENT ADDITION. <br />ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NOTES: <br />1. THE DETECTION AND CONTROLS PORTION OF THE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 70,72 AND STATE AND LOCAL CODES WHERE APPLICABLE. <br />2. ALL WIRING AND CONDUIT FOR THE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED IN MINIMUM OF 1/2" <br />RACEWAY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE <br />(NFPA 70), NATIONAL FIRE ALARM CODE (NFPA 72), CITY, STATE, LOCAL BUILDING CODES, THE AUTHORITY <br />HAVING JURISDICTION, PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND THE MANUFACTURE'S RECOMMENDATIONS. <br />3. ALL WIRING SHALL BE INSTALLED USING INSULATED INDIVIDUAL CONDUCTORS IN CONDUIT. THERE SHALL <br />BE NO BUTT SPLICING. ALL WIRE RUNS BETWEEN PANEL AND/OR DEVICES SHALL BE MADE WITH A SINGLE <br />LENGTH OF WIRE. CONDUCTORS ARE TO BE COLOR CODED, NUMBER CODED OR BOTH TO IDENTIFY THE <br />CIRCUITS AND POLARITY. ALL WIRING SHALL COMPLY WITH ARTICLE 760 OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br />CODE AND THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS. <br />4. REFERENCE MOUNTING INSTRUCTION INCLUDED WITH EACH DEVICE. <br />5. LOW VOLTAGE CIRCUITS MUST NOT BE COMBINED IN CONDUITS WITH HIGH VOLTAGE (120, 240, ETC. VOLT) <br />AC POWER OR CONTROL CIRCUITS, SUCH AS FAN SHUTDOWN, EQUIPMENT SHUTDOWN, ETC. <br />6. ROUTE NON -POWER LIMITED WIRING AT LEAST 1/4 INCH AWAY FROM ALL POWER LIMITED WIRING. DO NOT <br />ATTACH POWER LIMITED AND NON -POWER LIMITED WIRING TO THE SAME TERMINAL BLOCK. <br />7.
