Project Overview
Introduction
This report describes the detention system for the stormwater runoff from the Country Club
Daycare Center in Everett,Washington. The development consists of a 3,400 square foot
daycare building, 1,500 square feet of paved sidewalk and parking area, and 1,600 square feet cf
frontage improvement within the City right of way.
Proled 1,031t011
The project site is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of 100th Place SE and
Interurban Trail. It is situated in Section 19,Township 28 North,Range 5 East.
Existing Conditions
The existing conditions are a grass lawn bordered by 100th Place SE on,the north;a drainage
ditch and two existing buildings on the west and south, respectively; and the asphalt access road
to the existing buildings limits the site on the east.
i The topography of the site is mostly flat with gentle slopes on the edges. Stormwater runoff can
P: drain to the east, north, and west. Some of'the storm runoff in the east area of the site is collected
into a small swale along 100th Place SE. The swale slopes from the east to the northwest and
joinsthe drainage ditch at the northwest corner of the property. Off-site runoff also enters the
swale. Most of this runoff cons from the road surface of 100th Place SE.
The site consists of 0.74 acres of pervious area. It is mostly grass lawn with some landscape area
and some small trees. The General Soil Map in the Soil Survey of Snohomish County indicates
that the soil in the area is Alderwood. This soil is classified as a Hydrologic Soil Group C. A
I curve number(CN)of 86 was used in the runoff calculation.
{; The existing topographic survey was used to determine the flow route,as noted in Appendix A.
Developed Conditions
The developed conditions include a 3,400 square foot building along with 1,500 square feet of
sidewalks and parking areas. In addition, 1,600 square feet of sidewalk will be provided along
10h Place SE. The developed conditions will consist of 0.59 acres of pervious landscape area
and 0.15 acres of impervious areas. A CN of 86 was used for the landscape area, and a CN of 98
was used for the paved area.
1111
boot Coontry Nov*allw 2001
tlrarrlks Report -1- Reid iddleton
