4111 <br /> Section 5: That Section 72 of the Charter of the city of <br /> Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Section 72: BALLOTS--2RT.EPARATION: <br /> The Clerk shall cause appropriate ballots for each municipal <br /> election to be prepared." <br /> Section 6: That section 75 of the charter of the city of <br /> Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "section 75: CANVASS OF RETURNS--DETE'MINATION OF RETLTS <br /> OF ELECTION. <br /> (a) Where any candidate receives a majority of all votes <br /> cast at such primary election for any office, the name or <br /> names of such candidate or candidates receiving such majority <br /> shall be printed separately on the general election ballot -- <br /> - �- .:„� t 1 and the name or <br /> names of no opposing candidate or candidates shall be printed <br /> on such ballot in opposition to such candidate or candidates, but <br /> spaces equaling the number of such majority candidates shall be <br /> left following such name or names in which the voter may in- <br /> sert the name of any person for whom he wishes to cast his bal - <br /> lot. In case no candidate receives a majority of all votes <br /> cast for the office to which he seeks election, then the two <br /> candidates receiving the highest number of votes for that re- <br /> spective office at the primary election shall be the only can- <br /> didates at the general election. Provided, that if ther be <br /> any person, who, under the provisions of this section, would <br /> have been entitled to become a candidate for any office, ex- <br /> cept for the fact that some other candidate day-aay-eigi, received <br /> an equal nut$be± of votes therefor, then all such persons receiving <br /> such equal number of votes shall likewise become candidates for <br /> such office. The candidate who shall receive the highest num- <br /> ber of votes at such second election shall be declared elect- <br /> ed to such office; Provided, that if there be a tie the can- <br />
