2024 Pavement Maintenance Overlay SPECIAL PROVISIONS PW# 3823 41 1 2 DIVISION2.GR2 3 Division 2 4 Earthwork 5 6 2-02.GR2 7 Removal of Structures and Obstructions 8 9 2-02.3.GR2 10 Construction Requirements 11 12 2-02.3(3).GR2 13 Removal of Pavement, Sidewalks, Curbs, and Gutters 14 15 GLF 2-08.DOCX 16 2-08 STREET CLEANING 17 (******) 18 19 Section 2-08 of the standard specifications is vacant shall be replaced by the following: 20 21 2-08.1 Description 22 23 This work shall consist of sweeping all construction related roads, and cleaning the 24 pavement and removing debris from the roadway. 25 26 2-08.2 Vacant 27 28 2-08.3 Construction Requirements 29 30 The use of water to perform street sweeping work shall be held to a minimum unless 31 designated otherwise by the Engineer. The contractor shall provide self-propelled pickup 32 sweepers and/or vacuum pick up sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris removal 33 whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The type and number of sweepers are 34 subject to the approval of the Engineer. 35 36 Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day until 37 said surface is covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will not be 38 able to work daily on ground surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and the 39 Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. 40 41 The following work shall not be paid by “Street Cleaning”, it shall be included in the bid 42 item “Planing Bituminous Pavement” (2” Deep), per square yard: 43 44 1. Sweepers following the grinding work. 45 2. Debris left in the road or on the side of the road from Planing Bituminous 46 Pavement. 47 48 The Contractor shall plan the operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. 49 50
