2024 Pavement Maintenance Overlay SPECIAL PROVISIONS PW# 3823 78 8-22.2 Materials 1 2 All plastic marking shall be Type B or Type D plastic. Spray Type D is not allowed. 3 4 Where called for in the plans, green color pavement markings shall meet the 5 requirements of MUTCD Interim Approval for Optional Use of Green Colored 6 Pavement for Bike Lanes, IA-14. The color shall be green and will comply with FHWA 7 standards for daytime and nighttime chromaticity values. 8 9 a. The daytime chromaticity coordinates for the color used for green colored 10 pavement shall be as follows: 11 12 1 2 3 4 x 0.230 y 0.754 x 0.266 y 0.500 x 0.367 y 0.500 x 0.444 y 0.555 13 b. The daytime luminance factor (Y) shall be at least 7, but no more than 35. 14 15 c. The nighttime chromaticity coordinates for the color used for 16 green colored pavement shall be as follows: 17 18 1 2 3 4 x 0.230 y 0.754 x 0.336 y 0.540 x 0.457 y 0.500 x 0.479 y 0.520 19 20 8-22.3 Construction Requirements 21 22 Pavement markings shall be installed in accordance with Section 8-22.3 of the Standard 23 Specifications with the following modifications: 24 25 8) All wide line and dotted extension line shall be Type D plastic flat line. 26 9) Access parking space symbols, arrows, letters, and speed hump symbols shall be 27 Type D extruded plastic flat line. Spray Type D is not allowed. 28 10) All Crosswalk Line shall be solid white lines, 24” wide, installed in accordance with 29 City of Everett Standard Drawing No. 721 and shall be Type D extruded plastic 30 flat line. Spray Type D is not allowed. 31 11) All two-way left turn yellow lines and lane lines dividing two opposing directions of 32 travel shall be Type D plastic flat line. 33 12) Profiled plastic Type D material, where called for in the Appendices to the Special 34 Provisions, shall be used for lane line dividing traffic in the same direction of travel 35 including plastic skip white lane line, and solid white edge line, or other lines 36 staked by the Engineer. 37 13) All white parking lines shall be shall be Type D plastic flat line. 38 14) All wide line and dotted extension line shall be Type D plastic flat line. 39
