CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Water Main Replacement “Y” – Ph 1 Div B – BID ITEM DESCRIPTIONS March 2024 <br />Work Order No. UP 3814 SP-26 <br />constructed” location and elevations of the Work, and other information necessary for production <br />of the Record Drawing (As-Constructed) documents meeting the requirements defined in <br />RECORD DRAWINGS as specified in 1-08.11 of these Special Provisions. <br />Partial payments will be made for the lump sum contract price for “Surveying” as follows: <br />(a) When 10% of the total original contract amount is earned from other bid items, 50% <br />of the amount bid for surveying will be paid. <br />(b) When redlines are received for preparing RECORD DRAWINGS, including all <br />information described above, 100% of the amount bid for surveying will be paid. <br />Bid Item A03, B03, C03, D03 - Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan <br />Specification Section 1-07 <br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br />The lump sum bid for the Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan includes, but <br />is not limited to, all costs associated with complying with the requirements of Section 1-07.15(1) <br />of the Standard Specification. <br />Bid Item A04, B04, C04, D04 - Force Account <br />Specification Section 1-09 <br />Measurement and Payment: Force Account (FA) <br />This Force Account bid item shall be accomplished in accordance with 1-09.6 FORCE <br />ACCOUNT; except, as modified below. <br />The Force Account bid item has been included for specific miscellaneous work items listed below <br />and for any additional work directed by the Engineer that is not required by the original Contract <br />and to address changed conditions or unanticipated work. The amount indicated in the Proposal <br />for this bid item is to provide a common bid amount. The actual amount paid under this bid item <br />may vary from no payment to the full amount of the bid item. <br />In lieu of the preceding prescribed method of determining payment for Force Account work, <br />payment may be made at unit prices or lump sum prices agreed to by the Engineer and the <br />Contractor prior to beginning the Force Account work. <br />(a) Cost for additional excavation, fittings, and labor to make grade adjustments to the <br />new watermain for unknown underground conflicts and conflicts due to being <br />unmarked or mismarked utilities in the field. <br />(b) Restoration of existing special private improvements including, but not limited to, <br />brick or stone walkways, decorative concrete walks or driveways, concrete masonry <br />or stone walls, rockery’s, fences, landscape plantings, reset mailbox supports, <br />including but not limited to, hedges, trees, flowerbeds, irrigation systems, yard <br />lighting, rockeries, retaining walls, or steps. <br />(c) Adjustment to utility lids/covers, catch basin or manhole grates/covers to finished <br />grade, reset disturbed survey benchmark or monuments. <br />Bid Item A05, B05, C05, D05 - Record Drawings (Minimum Bid $____) <br />Specification Section 1-08 <br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br />Payment for this item will be made on a prorated monthly basis for work completed in accordance <br />with section 1-08.11 up to 75% of the lump sum bid. The final 25% of the lump sum item will be <br />paid upon submittal and approval of the completed Record Drawings set prepared in <br />conformance with these Special Provisions. <br />Surveying required for preparing record drawings shall be paid under “Surveying” bid item.
