Police and Fire Pension Board Minutes <br />City Of Everett <br />October 18, 2023 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Roll was called with all members voting yes except Board Member Franklin who was excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br />Fire Board <br /> <br />Moved by Neyens, seconded by Vitalich, to adopt the proposed dental allowance to <br />grandfather the existing rollover balance, exclude preventive care from allowance and increase <br />to a $2500 annual allowance. All members who exceed or need additional work can submit up <br />to $4000 approval. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all members voting yes except Board Member Franklin who was excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE: <br /> <br />The current alternative medicine policy requires a member to submit any requests for <br />chiropractic, massage or acupuncture to the board for pre-approval. The proposal would allow <br />up 24 visits per year, medically necessary without board approval, above and beyond would <br />require board approval for chiropractic appointments and 12 visits per year that are medically <br />necessary without board approval, above and beyond would require board approval and <br />prescription for massage and acupuncture. <br /> <br /> <br />Police Board <br /> <br />Moved by Member Haugen, seconded by Sebald, to adopt the proposed alternative medicine <br />to allow up 24 visits per year, medically necessary without board approval, above and beyond <br />would require board approval for chiropractic appointments and 12 visits per year that are <br />medically necessary without board approval, above and beyond would require board approval <br />and prescription for massage and acupuncture. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all members voting yes except Board Member Franklin who was excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br />Fire Board <br /> <br />Moved by Neyens, seconded by Vitalich, to adopt the proposed alternative medicine to allow <br />up 24 visits per year, medically necessary without board approval, above and beyond would <br />require board approval for chiropractic appointments and 12 visits per year that are medically
