This provides 90% of the project cost, with a 10% city
match.

Project summary statement:
Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) can examine at all levels of communication and allow us
greater levels of filtering and control over approved network traffic. This is an important tool for
the City’s information technology services and security.
These grants do not cover ongoing subscription costs, but do cover initial startup costs of
subscription services, such as monitoring. This is being considered in our vendor discovery
process.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Cybersecurity Improvements Funding Grant Agreement and all
related documents to implement the project.

City Council Agenda Item Cover Sheet
