May 15, 2024 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 15, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. <br />Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Zarlingo recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the May 8, 2024, meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin provided updates regarding cyber security at the Library computers and outdated <br />Everett Municipal Code language. Mayor Franklin briefed on events this weekend: Clean Everett <br />event on Saturday, Fisherman’s Village Music Festival is all weekend, and Bike Everywhere Day is <br />Friday. <br />Mayor Franklin read a proclamation declaring May Jewish American Heritage Month. Rabbi <br />Rachel Kort, Temple Beth Or, made a statement regarding the proclamation. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following member of the public spoke: Leo Lorge. <br />COUNCIL <br />Comments and liaison reports were provided by council members. <br />Moved by Council Member Fosse, seconded by Council Member Vogeli, to work with staff to <br />amend the zoning code to allow birth centers on first floors. David Hall, Legal, stated staff would <br />work with Council Member Fosse to review this portion of the zoning code.
