Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 2 DIVISION1.GR1 1 Division 1 2 General Requirements 3 4 DESWORK1.FR1.DOCX 5 (March 13, 1995) 6 This Contract provides for the improvement of *** Edgewater Bridge which will include 7 replacement of the existing bridge, 230 feet of retaining walls, regrade and pave adjacent 8 streets, landscaping, signage, channelization, illumination, stormwater conveyance, 9 stormwater flow control, *** and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, 10 these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. 11 12 1-01.DOCX 13 Definitions and Terms 14 15 1-01.3.RTF 16 1-01.3 Definitions 17 (January 19, 2022 APWA GSP) 18 19 Delete the heading Completion Dates and the three paragraphs that follow it, and replace 20 them with the following: 21 22 Dates 23 Bid Opening Date 24 The date on which the Contracting Agency publicly opens and reads the Bids. 25 Award Date 26 The date of the formal decision of the Contracting Agency to accept the lowest 27 responsible and responsive Bidder for the Work. 28 Contract Execution Date 29 The date the Contracting Agency officially binds the Agency to the Contract. 30 Notice to Proceed Date 31 The date stated in the Notice to Proceed on which the Contract time begins. 32 Substantial Completion Date 33 The day the Engineer determines the Contracting Agency has full and unrestricted 34 use and benefit of the facilities, both from the operational and safety standpoint, any 35 remaining traffic disruptions will be rare and brief, and only minor incidental work, 36 replacement of temporary substitute facilities, plant establishment periods, or 37 correction or repair remains for the Physical Completion of the total Contract. 38 Physical Completion Date 39 The day all of the Work is physically completed on the project. All documentation 40 required by the Contract and required by law does not necessarily need to be 41 furnished by the Contractor by this date. 42 Completion Date 43 The day all the Work specified in the Contract is completed and all the obligations of 44 the Contractor under the contract are fulfilled by the Contractor. All documentation 45 required by the Contract and required by law must be furnished by the Contractor 46 before establishment of this date. 47 Final Acceptance Date 48 The date on which the Contracting Agency accepts the Work as complete. 49
