Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 165 The Double Check Valve Assembly shall be installed in a specified and approved vault. 1 2 Drain valves shall be installed in accordance with current local plumbing codes. 3 4 Once installed, the DCVA must be tested by the local water jurisdiction. 5 6 Automatic Control Valves 7 Install per manufactures Specifications to insure proper system operation. 8 9 Before installation of any automatic valves, the supply line must be thoroughly flushed. 10 11 All automatic valves shall be enclosed in valve boxes with valve box extensions as 12 required. 13 14 Service Connection 15 Install meter service per City of Everett Standard Drawing No. 501. 16 17 Coverage Test 18 Before the irrigation system will be accepted, the Contractor, in the presence of the 19 Engineer, shall perform a water coverage test for each zone of the system. The 20 Contractor shall be responsible to add or change the system components at discretion of 21 the Engineer in order to obtain adequate coverage for survival of new woody plantings. 22 The Contractor shall be required to add, adjust, and/or replace existing heads, nozzles to 23 meet this requirement. The Contractor shall accomplish the following: complete all Work 24 including balancing and adjusting the system (pressure reducing valves, flow 25 adjustments, etc.) to provide optimum coverage. 26 27 Notify the Contracting Agency at least forty eight (48) hours in advance of the coverage 28 test. 29 30 Measurement 31 Irrigation service connections will be measured per each size of service connection installed. 32 33 Payment 34 Payment will be made for the following bid item when included in the proposal: 35 36 “Temporary Irrigation System Complete”, lump sum. 37 The lump sum Contract price for “Irrigation System Complete” shall be full compensation for 38 all costs incurred by the Contractor in providing a complete irrigation system as specified, 39 including furnishing all materials necessary for a complete design and installation, including 40 pipe, valves, fittings, heads, nozzles, valve controllers, back-flow prevention device, and all 41 appurtenances related thereto. Included shall be all labor of design and installation, including 42 trenching, plumbing, back-filling, electrical Work, adjustments, and all other items of labor 43 necessary for a satisfactory operating system. 44 45 “Temporary Irrigation Service Connection 1 In. Diam.”, per each. 46 The unit Contract price per each for “Temporary Irrigation Service Connection 1 Diam.” shall 47 be full pay for all Work to install the irrigation service connection, including City of Everett 48 Standard Drawing No. 501. 49 50
