Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 171 1 Conduit Sealing 2 Mechanical plugs for cabinet conduit sealing shall be one of the following: 3 4 1. Tyco Electronics - TDUX 5 2. Jackmoon – Triplex Duct Plugs 6 3. O-Z Gedney – Conduit Sealing Bushings 7 8 The mechanical plug shall withstand a minimum of 5 psi of pressure. 9 10 Rigid Metal Conduit Fittings and Appurtenances 11 Section 9-29.1(2) is supplemented with the following: 12 13 Conduit Coatings 14 Electroplated couplings are not allowed. 15 16 Surface Mounting Conduit Attachment Components 17 Channel supports and all fastening hardware components shall be Type 304 18 stainless steel. Conduit clamps shall be one piece, two bolt units with lock 19 washers. 20 21 Non-Metallic Conduit 22 Section 9-29.1(4) is supplemented with the following: 23 24 PVC conduit shall be either Schedule 40 or Schedule 80, as indicated on the plans. 25 Schedule 80 shall be required for all street crossings and for the bottom 10' of pole 26 risers. Schedule 80 shall be used for all conduits that are installed using Directional 27 Bore method. Bell end bushings shall be installed on all conduit ends. Conduit runs, 28 without innerduct, installed using directional boring method shall be Schedule 80 high 29 density polyethylene (HDPE) if the runs enter/cross the traveled way or shoulder, 30 and Schedule 40 HPDE for runs that do not enter or cross the traveled way or 31 shoulder. 32 33 CNH 8-20.2(9-29.2) Junction Box.DOCX 34 (City of Everett GSP) 35 9-29.2 Junction Boxes, Cable Vaults, and Pull Boxes 36 Section 9-29.2 is supplemented with the following: 37 38 All junction boxes shall conform to the details shown on the WSDOT Standard 39 Drawings J-40 series, City of Everett Standard Drawing 805, and shall be of the type 40 indicated in the plans. All junction box lids and frames shall be galvanized and those 41 installed within sidewalk areas shall be slip-resistant. All junction boxes shall have 42 base sections as shown in City of Everett Standard Drawing 805. All junction boxes 43 to be located in the street or shoulder area shall be heavy duty junction boxes as 44 detailed in Standard Plan 1-40.20 and described in Section 9-29.2(1)B. 45 46 Vaults shall be as indicated on the drawings shall be 233-LA, 444-LA and 504-LA, or 47 approved equivalent. Lids for the vaults shall be 23-2436P, 44-332P and 55-332P, 48 respectively and shall be slip-resistant. 49 50 All junction boxes and vaults placed in sidewalk or pedestrian path shall meet a gap 51 acceptance requirement of no more than ½” wide with greater than ¼” deep 52
