Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 18 Roadway paving pins for 1 surfacing or paving ±0.01 feet ±0.2 feet 2 (parallel to alignment) 3 ±0.1 feet 4 (normal to alignment) 5 6 The Contracting Agency may spot-check the Contractor's surveying. These spot-checks 7 will not change the requirements for normal checking by the Contractor. 8 9 When staking roadway alignment and stationing, the Contractor shall perform 10 independent checks from different secondary control to ensure that the points staked are 11 within the specified survey accuracy tolerances. 12 13 The Contractor shall calculate coordinates for the alignment. The Contracting Agency will 14 verify these coordinates prior to issuing approval to the Contractor for commencing with 15 the work. The Contracting Agency will require up to seven calendar days from the date 16 the data is received. 17 18 Contract work to be performed using contractor-provided stakes shall not begin until the 19 stakes are approved by the Contracting Agency. Such approval shall not relieve the 20 Contractor of responsibility for the accuracy of the stakes. 21 22 Stakes shall be marked in accordance with Standard Plan A10.10. When stakes are 23 needed that are not described in the Plans, then those stakes shall be marked, at no 24 additional cost to the Contracting Agency as ordered by the Engineer. 25 26 Payment 27 Payment will be made for the following bid item when included in the proposal: 28 29 "Roadway Surveying", lump sum. 30 31 The lump sum contract price for "Roadway Surveying" shall be full pay for all labor, 32 equipment, materials, and supervision utilized to perform the Work specified, including 33 any resurveying, checking, correction of errors, replacement of missing or damaged 34 stakes, and coordination efforts. 35 36 1-05.4.OPT4.GR1 37 (March 9, 2023) 38 Contractor Surveying – ADA Features 39 ADA Feature Staking Requirements 40 The Contractor shall be responsible for setting, maintaining, and resetting all 41 alignment stakes, and grades necessary for the construction of the ADA features. 42 Calculations, surveying, and measuring required for setting and maintaining the 43 necessary lines and grades shall be the Contractor's responsibility. The Contractor 44 shall build the ADA features within the specifications in the Standard Plans and 45 contract documents. 46 47 ADA Feature Contract Compliance 48 The Contractor shall be responsible for completing measurements to verify all ADA 49 features comply with the Contract in the presence of the Engineer. 50 51
