May 22, 2024 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 22, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Fosse recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the May 15, 2024, meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin thanked all who participated in the Clean Everett event. She also welcomed new <br />businesses to the City. Mayor Franklin congratulated Finance Director Susy Haugen on her <br />retirement and announced the new Finance Director Heide Brillantes. <br />Mayor Franklin read a proclamation declaring May National Asthma and Allergy Awareness <br />Month. Leah Alejandro made a statement regarding the proclamation. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Council received 12 written comments and the following member of the public spoke: Leo Lorge. <br />COUNCIL <br />Council Member Rhyne commented on her attendance at the Mayor’s Drug Task Force, <br />Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, and the Lowell neighborhood meeting. <br />Council Member Bader commented on his attendance at the Library Board meeting. <br />Council Member Tuohy commented on the Safe Community Committee meeting. <br />Council Member Vogeli commented on her attendance at the Transportation Advisory <br />Committee meeting. <br />Council Member Fosse also commented on the Safe Community Committee meeting.
