SECTION 01 10 00
SUMMARY OF WORK
PART1 GENERAL
1.01 SUMMARY
A. This Section describes a project to construct one 8 million gallon reinforced and partially buried
concrete reservoir, shoring systems, electrical and instrumentation and control systems, and
associated piping and other appurtenances, including steel piping, trench and reservoir
excavation, haul, backfill, and spoils disposal. The 8-MG reservoir is Phase 1 of the overall
project and this reservoir is called Reservoir 3A. The work also includes two off site pipe
connections near Reservoir 2. An area on the site has been designated as Zone A and
excavated material from this zone may contain PFAS. Spoils from Zone A shall be stockpiled
onsite and left for reuse onsite in Phase 2 of this project. Phase 2 is not part of this contract..
1.02 LOCATION
A. The Project is located in Everett, Washington, and Reservoir 3A is located on City of Everett
property at 6107 Evergreen Way, Everett, WA 98203. The site also contains three existing
pump stations, a cellular tower, and the existing 20-MG covered reservoir which must remain in
service during Phase 1 work.
B. The Project also includes two pipe connections and cut/caps east of Reservoir 2 at the
intersection of Tulalip and Charles Avenue and the intersection of Federal and Edward Avenue.
C. Dredged Sand soils for the backfill on the Reservoir 3A site shall be City -owned soils currently
at the City owned property located along the west bank of the Snohomish River near the
intersection of 1-5 and US 2. Site is gated - arrange for gate access.
1.03 COORDINATION OF DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS
A. The above limited description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the
Contractor to perform all work and furnish all equipment, labor and materials required by the
Contract Documents.
B. No attempt has been made in these Contract Documents to segregate work covered by any
trade or subcontract under a single specification. Such segregation and establishment of
subcontract limits will be solely a matter of agreement between the Contractor and its
subcontractors.
C. The Contract Documents are intended to describe and provide for a complete project. Any
requirement in one is as binding as if stated in all. The Contractor shall provide all work and
materials clearly implied in the Contract Documents even if the Contract Documents do not
mention it specifically. If there is a conflict within the Contract Documents it will be resolved by
the following order of precedence, per Section 00 72 00 subsection 1.2 1-12.
D. Dimensions shown on the Drawings or that can be computed from the Drawings shall take
precedence over scaled dimensions. Notes on Drawings shall take precedence over Drawing
details.
E. The intent of the Drawings and specifications is to prescribe the construction and completion of
the work which the Contractor will perform according to the terms of the Contract. Where the
Drawings or specifications describe portions of the work in general terms, but details are
incomplete or silent, it is understood that the Contractor shall use only the best general
practices. Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools,
Reservoir 3 Replacement Phase 1 SUMMARY OF WORK March 2024
Work Order No. UP3739 01 10 00
