SECTION 01 12 16 <br />WORK SEQUENCE <br />PART1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes basic sequencing, phasing, constraints, and coordination requirements <br />for the Phase 1 work Reservoir 3A. Phase 2's Reservoir 3B is not part of this contract. <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Procedures: Section 01 33 00. <br />B. Work Sequencing Plan: At a minimum, this plan shall include the following: <br />1. Complete sequence of construction as necessary to complete the work within the Contract <br />Time. Coordinate Work Sequencing Plan with the Schedule of Values and Construction <br />Progress Schedule. <br />2. Include major work activities, milestones, and constraints. Include start dates for <br />subcontractors starting their work. <br />3. Include the submittals process, ordering, and delivery of long lead time materials to verify <br />the work can be completed within the Contract Time. <br />4. Listing of major pieces of equipment to be present on site during each phase of the work. <br />5. Address assistance required of the Owner's operating personnel during any work activities. <br />6. Provide contingency plans identifying any action that will be taken if activities during a <br />shutdown cannot be completed within the allotted time. <br />1.03 CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION AND GENERAL SEQUENCING OF WORK <br />A. In order to maintain a reliable water supply to the greatest extent possible, certain elements of <br />work must be completed in the following sequence: <br />1. The new Reservoir 3A, connecting pipes, equipment, metering systems, chlorination <br />monitoring systems, electrical, and instrumentation systems shall be accepted as <br />Substantially Complete prior to making final connections to the existing water system. The <br />new Reservoir 3A shall be capable of providing all of the necessary storage functions for <br />this site assuming the existing 20-MG reservoir will be taken off line at the end of Phase 1. <br />Existing Reservoir 3, the cell tower, and the three existing pump stations served by the <br />existing reservoir shall remain in service throughout the duration of Phase 1 except where <br />explicitly stated in this specification. <br />2. Phase 2 is not part of this project. <br />B. Protection of existing facilities and utilities. <br />C. TESC facility installation. <br />D. Site security fence (temporary and permanent) installation prior to the demolition of the existing <br />fence. Site shall be secure at all times. Provide keys to Engineer. <br />E. Excavation and shoring system design and installation. <br />F. Reservoir and associated piping system construction including disinfection and testing. <br />G. Completion of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls systems, and related systems. <br />H. Backfill and shoring system removal or partial removal. <br />I.
