J. Removal of all or part of TESC facilities. <br />1.04 INTERRUPTION OF UTILITY SERVICE <br />A. Work Sequencing Plan shall indicate required shutdowns of existing utilities or interruptions of <br />existing operations. Update on Progress Schedules. <br />B. Submit requests for interruptions to City of Everett Utility Service Department not less than five <br />business days in advance of the date scheduled for the interruption unless a more stringent <br />requirement is stated in this specification. Provide copy of requests to Engineer. <br />C. Submit requests for interruptions to Alderwood Water and Wastewater District not less than 25 <br />business days in advance of the date scheduled for the interruption. Provide copy of requests <br />to Engineer. <br />D. Following receipt of the request, Engineer will notify Contractor if the requested date will be <br />allowed or not. Evaluation of the request will be based upon the availability of the utility owner's <br />personnel to assist and monitor utilities during the shutdown period and impact to customer <br />service. <br />E. Minimize the period of interruption by thorough advance planning. Procure and provide all <br />required materials, equipment, and labor on site during the shutdown. <br />F. Do not begin interruption until written authorization is received from Engineer. <br />1.05 CONSTRAINTS <br />A. Charles and Tulalip Cut/Cap: The City needs to drain part of the system piping before this <br />cut/caps can occur. Provide a minimum of 30 days notice to the Engineer to schedule this work. <br />The disconnections shall be performed and completed over a two week period during the <br />Jackson Elementary School Winter Break (typically starting on the Monday before December <br />25th). Contact Everett Public School District for exact dates. <br />B. Lauren Valve and Federal Avenue Connections: The City needs to drain part of the system <br />piping before these connections can occur. Provide a minimum of 30 days notice to the <br />Engineer to schedule this work. The tie-ins shall be performed and completed over a two week <br />period during the Jackson Elementary School Winter Break (typically starting on the Monday <br />before December 25th). Contact Everett Public School District for exact dates. <br />C. AWWD Pipe Support: The Alderwood Water and Wastewater District (AWWD) needs to drain <br />part of the system piping before this pipe support work can occur. It is not acceptable to <br />excavate beneath this pipe when the pipe is in operation. Provide a minimum of 30 days notice <br />to the Engineer to schedule this work. The pipe support work itself shall occur outside the <br />window from May 1st to September 30th. Lastly, this work cannot occur if the forecasted outside <br />temperature may reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit or above. This pipe can remain offline for a <br />duration of 1 month when drained and supported. <br />1. Provide load dispersing measures such as tree protection matting/crane matting over <br />top of the existing AWWD PCCP pipes where construction traffic will cross. <br />2. Do not stockpile materials or park equipment on top of the existing AWWD PCCP. <br />D. Yard Piping: <br />1. For all areas outside of the Zone A excavation area, the City needs to drain parts of the <br />system piping before connections to existing pipes can be made. Provide a minimum of 30 <br />days notice to the Engineer to schedule this work. This piping work must occur outside the <br />window from May 1st and September 30th. Connections to existing pipes must take less <br />than 48 hours, defined by the time the pipe is taken out of service, to being placed back <br />into service following satisfactory testing and disinfection. Lastly, this work cannot occur if <br />the forecasted outside temperature may reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit or above. <br />Reservoir 3 Replacement Phase 1 WORK SEQUENCE March 2024 <br />Work Order No. UP3739 01 12 16 <br />
