SECTION 01 22 00 <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Measurement and payment will be on a lump sum or unit price basis in accordance with the <br />prices set forth in the Bid Form. A Force Account item is included for the use of the Owner. <br />Where work is required but does not appear as a separate item in the proposal, the cost for that <br />work shall be included in the bid items in the Bid Form. <br />B. Section includes: <br />1. Measurement for Lump Sum and Unit Price items. <br />2. Payment for Lump Sum and Unit Price items. <br />3. Schedule of Lump Sum and Unit Price items. <br />4. One Force Account item. <br />C. Measurement: <br />1. Measurement by weight: Weigh on commercial calibrated truck scale per WSDOT 1-09.2. <br />Weigh tickets must include time of weighing. <br />2. Measurement by area: Measurement by area shall include the affected area as measured <br />by the Owner's Representative. <br />3. Measurement by length: Measurement by length will be the number of linear feet of <br />completed installation measured along the centerline of pipe through fittings, valves and <br />couplings. Limits of measurement shall be from the centerline of couplings, valves, fitting, <br />and manholes. <br />4. Measurement by volume: Measure volume using the average -end -area method. All or <br />some computations may be based upon excavation measurements and other data <br />measured at the point of loading for excavated material or delivery for imported material. <br />Hauling vehicles may be of any size or type provided that the body is of such shape that <br />the actual contents and volumes may be readily and accurately determined. If the Owner's <br />Representative requires, the Contractor shall level loads to facilitate measurement. <br />D. Payment <br />1. Unit Price payment will be made at the Unit Price indicated on the Bid form for the quantity <br />of each item measured and incorporated into the Work. Payment will be the Unit Price <br />multiplied by the measured quantity. <br />2. Lump Sum payment will be paid at the price indicated on the Bid Form using the methods <br />specified herein. <br />3. One item is a Force account. <br />4. All other work required to complete the Work specified in the Contract Documents, but not <br />indicated specifically as a pay item, shall be considered necessary and incidental work. <br />5. The Contract contains bid item quantities to provide a common Proposal for Bidders. In <br />accordance with WSDOT Section 1-04.6, no cost adjustments will be made for any <br />variation in the bid item quantities except as specified elsewhere in the Contract <br />Documents. <br />Bid Item 1 - MOBILIZATION, BONDS, DEMOBILIZATION <br />Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) <br />The lump sum bid price for this bid item shall be full compensation for all preconstruction costs of <br />preparatory work and operations including, but not limited to, those necessary for the movement <br />of personnel, equipment, supplies and incidentals to the Project; for the establishment of temporary <br />utilities, offices ,and other facilities necessary for Work on this Project; for preparation of material <br />storage areas, stock pile areas, and other temporary improvements, work for premiums on bonds, <br />permits, and insurance for the Project, and for Work and operations that he must perform or costs <br />that must incur before beginning and at the completion of production work on the various items on <br />the Project. This bid item also includes, but is not limited to, posting construction identification signs, <br />securing permits, establishing safety and security measures, preparing a traffic control plans, <br />Reservoir 3 Replacement Phase 1 <br />Work Order No. UP3739 01 22 00 <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT March 2024 <br />
