The construction type for the building should be specified in the"Code Information"section on <br /> Sheet A1.0. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 602.1. <br /> Fire Protection: <br /> 2. It is anticipated that fire-rated construction may be required for some of the horizontal and <br /> vertical assemblies based on the occupancy change of the lower level and depending on the <br /> construction type. Additional details for the construction of the building framing system, <br /> including but not limited to the exterior walls, interior walls and columns, floor, and roof, should <br /> be provided as needed. See IBC Chapters 5 and 6. <br /> Egress: <br /> 3. Both levels may require modifications to the egress systems. Conditions include but are not <br /> limited to: <br /> a. Modifying the rear stairs if they do not comply with the current requirements per IBC <br /> Section 1011. <br /> b. Reversing the door swing in the lower rear halfway leading to the rear egress stairs per IBC <br /> Section 1010.1.2.1. <br /> c. Removing the door at the top of the stairs per IBC Section 1010.1.6. <br /> 4. The main dining areas at both levels should be provided with maximum occupant load signs per <br /> IBC Section 1004.9. The locations of the signs should be specified in the floor plans. <br /> 5. The floor plans should specify exit signs. Intermediate exit signs should include direction <br /> arrows where door signs are not readily visible. The lighting, including existing locations, <br /> should specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1013.6.3. <br /> See IBC Section 1013.1. <br /> 6. Emergency means-of-egress illumination should be provided per IBC Section 1008.3. The <br /> construction drawings shall include a reflected ceiling plan indicating egress lighting. The <br /> lighting shall specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section <br /> 1008.3.4. <br /> 7. The exterior landings providing egress should be provided with emergency lighting. The <br /> lighting shall specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section <br /> 1008.3.4.
