Below are <br /> our responses to the structural comments. All changes to the drawings due to a plan check comment <br /> have been clouded on the drawings. <br /> CORRECTIONS <br /> 1. The Framing Plan on Sheet S2.0 includes 4x10 beams. Calculations substantiating the design <br /> are not included in the calculation package and should be submitted for review per IBC Section <br /> 1604.1. Note that calculations and drawings indicate a 50 psf floor live load for"residential" <br /> and "office" loading, respectively. The minimum uniform area load for the A-2 space should be <br /> 100 psf per IBC Table 1607.1;the load is not reducible per Footnote(m). <br /> The floor design live load has been increased to 100 psf both on the drawings(see 51.0)and the <br /> calculations package(see A-1). The 4x10 beams size have been upsized to 4x14 beams(See Main <br /> Floor Framing Plan on S2.0). The Revision 1 Calculations are shown on page B-5, 8-7,and D-1. <br /> 2. The following comments should be addressed for the design of the guards around the new <br /> stairway opening: <br /> a.The construction of the guards on Sheet A4.1 is not clear. The sections and details are not <br /> consistent. If a wall is intended, revised details are required. <br /> b. Calculations substantiating the guard connection should be submitted for review. See IBC <br /> Section 1607.8.1. <br /> c.The guards should specify openings that do not pass a 4-inch sphere per IBC Section <br /> 1015.4. Openings specified as "4-inches maximum" do not comply. <br /> a. Refer to the architectural Detail 6 on Sheet A4.1. <br /> b. The calculations supporting the guard design and details are shown on the Revision 1 <br /> Calculations pages 8-9 to 8-13. <br /> c.
