Project Description <br /> <br />The purpose of this project is to assist City of Everett employees in improving their working <br />relationships. The goal is for improved communication, respectful conduct and productive <br />and professional ways in which to deal with conflict and difference of opinions. This will be <br />achieved by; (1) providing each employee a confidential interview with a facilitator to <br />identify their interests and concerns (2) conducting a mediation where an agenda is created to <br />identify all topics needing to be addressed and facilitating conversations which move the <br />parties to establish agreements that will improve the work environment (3) using coaching <br />techniques as needed so employees are empowered with skills to maintain positive working <br />relationships. (4) Evaluations will be completed to assess effectiveness and to help determine <br />any necessary next steps. <br /> <br /> <br />B. Contractor Tasks and Responsibilities <br /> <br />a. DRC will provide 2 mediators for each mediation. <br />b. An intake interview will be conducted with each participant prior to the mediation <br />through confidential conversations. <br />c. Based on the interviews, a new proposal may be made if information gathered <br />suggests other services are recommended. <br />d. Mediators to conduct multiple mediations, as required to work through all topics. <br />e. Mediation communications are confidential. We will communicate with City of <br />Everett Human Resources of the following as we proceed. 1) the mediation <br />process is continuing, 2) the mediation process has successfully concluded, or 3) <br />the mediation process ceased due to irreconcilable differences <br />f. Follow-up mediation to be conducted 30, 60 or 90 days after implementation of <br />agreements for follow-through and adjustment if determined helpful by clients. <br />g. Client Evaluations conducted to determine satisfaction with process will be shared <br />with City of Everett <br /> <br />C. Facilities and Resources <br />1. Mediation will be held at the Dispute Resolution Offices located at <br />2801 Lombard St. Everett WA <br />2. DRC will provide all necessary equipment for mediation. <br />3. City of Everett Human Resources will provide the DRC with <br />contact information for both parties and facilitate an introduction <br />email to the involved employees. <br />4. All parties participating in mediation are required to sign the <br />Agreement to Mediate prior to the interviews being conducted. <br />Agreements to Mediate are between DRC and the individuals who <br />sign them. The City of Everett is not a party to any Agreements to <br />Mediate and no signature on an Agreement to Mediate is on behalf <br />of the City of Everett.
