July 17, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., July 17, 2024, by <br />President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Rhyne, Bader, Tuohy, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo and President Schwab were present. Council Member Fosse was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 10, 2024, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief John DeRousse to introduce a new police officer. <br /> <br />OATH – POLICE OFFICER <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to concur with the <br />appointment of Brett Gailey as a new police officer. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office, Mayor Franklin pinned the officer with their badge, <br />and Council members congratulated Officer Gailey. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided information on upcoming events: GeekFest, Rock The Boat, and Everett <br />Fire Ultimate Sprinkler Day. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin also stated Proposition1 information sessions will be held on July 27th at the <br />Evergreen Branch Library at 11:30am, and July 30th at Everett Station at 5:30pm. Residents should <br />be receiving their August 6th primary ballots and voter’s pamphlets in a few days. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT
