<br />COMPONENTS TO ALLOW DISASSEMBLY FOR MAINTENANCE.
<br />2. PROVIDE AN INSULATED COPPER TRACER WIRE OR OTHER
<br />APPROVED CONDUCTOR ADJACENT TO UNDERGROUND NONMETALLIC
<br />(PLASTIC) PIPING. ACCESS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE TRACER
<br />WIRE OR THE TRACER WIRE SHALL TERMINATE ABOVE GROUND AT
<br />EACH END OF THE PIPING. THE TRACER WIRE SHALL NOT BE
<br />LESS THAN NO. 18 AWG AND THE INSULATION TYPE SHALL BE
<br />SUITABLE FOR BURIAL.
<br />3. PROVIDE 12" LONG, 'h" WIDE FLUORESCENT ORANGE TAPE AT
<br />CONCEALED VALVE LOCATIONS.
<br />NON-STRUCTURAL MECHANICAL COMPONENT NOTES
<br />1. ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND
<br />NON-STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS THAT ARE PERMANENTLY
<br />ATTACHED TO STRUCTURES AND THEIR SUPPORTS AND
<br />ATTACHMENTS SHALL BE DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED TO
<br />RESIST THE EFFECTS OF EARTHQUAKE MOTIONS.
<br />2. DESIGN AND SPECIFY HANGERS AND SEISMIC BRACING. SHALL
<br />COORDINATE THE SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND DESIGN LOADS FOR
<br />HUNG PIPING AND OTHER MECHANICAL SYSTEMS (INCLUDING
<br />COMBINED MULTIPLE PIPE RUNS) WITH THE GENERAL

<br />STERILIZATION AND FLUSHING OF WATER PIPING
<br />1. AFTER COMPLETION OF WATER PIPING INSTALLATION, BUT
<br />PRIOR TO CONNECTION TO EXISTING MAINS, FLUSH SYSTEM
<br />WITH CLEAN WATER. TAKE SAMPLE OF WATER FROM SYSTEM
<br />TO DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH DEPARTMENT
<br />STANDARDS. OBTAIN NECESSARY TESTS FROM GOVERNING
<br />HEALTH DEPARTMENT. IF SAMPLE IS NOT IN COMPLIANCE,
<br />PERFORM STERILIZATION.
<br />2. STERILIZE FOR 8 HOUR CONTACT TIME WITH 50 PARTS PER
<br />MILLION CHLORINE CONCENTRATION. OPEN VALVES SEVERAL
<br />TIMES. FOLLOW BY FLUSHING WITH CLEAN WATER UNTIL
<br />RESIDUAL CHLORINE IS LESS THAN 0.2 PARTS PER MILLION.
<br />3. AFTER FLUSHING AND STERILIZATION ARE COMPLETE,
<br />CONDUCT TESTS TO DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH
<br />DEPARTMENT STANDARDS FOR STERILIZATION RESULTS. IF
<br />PIPE SYSTEM IS FOUND TO BE CONTAMINATED, CORRECT
<br />DEFECTS AND PERFORM ADDITIONAL FLUSHING AND
<br />STERILIZATION UNTIL SATISFACTORY RESULTS ARE OBTAINED.
<br />4. SUBMIT WRITTEN CERTIFICATION OF FLUSHING AND
