<br />4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS AND EXERCISE SOUND ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES IN CONDUCTING THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT EXISTING
<br />PUBLIC AND PRIVATE UTILITIES FROM DAMAGE DURING CONSTRUCTION. IF EXISTING U1ILITIES ARE DAMAGED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE OWNER AND THE ENGINEER. THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE THE UTILITY TO ITS EXISTING CONDITION. (WSDOT SECTION 1-07.17 APWA SUPPLEMENT). THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MEANS AND METHODS OF

<br />5. WHERE THE PLANS CALL FOR UTILITIES TO BE RELOCATED BY OTHERS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE UTILITY COMPANY AND COORDINATE HIS WORK SO AS TO AVOID CONFLICTS.
<br />6. ALL EXCAVATION, TRENCHING, SUBGRADE PREPARATION, FILL PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION AND ALL SOIL WORK IN GENERAL SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
