August 28, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., August 28, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Vogeli, Fosse, <br />Tuohy, Rhyne, Bader, and President Schwab were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the August 21, 2024, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin announced the retirement of Tom Hingson, Transportation and Everett Transit <br />Services Director, spoke on his years of service, and invited him to address the Council. Mayor <br />also spoke on the City’s hiring freeze, Voluntary Separation Incentive Program, upcoming budget <br />sessions and potential regular council meeting changes. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The following member of the public spoke: Roger Moller and Erin Knight. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Vice President Zarlingo congratulated Tom Hingson on his retirement, attended Pinehurst – <br />Beverly Park event at Lions Park, thanked staff for their community outreach budget sessions, <br />and reminded the community that the Jetty Island Ferry runs through September 1st. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli congratulated Tom Hingson on his retirement and was able to attend the <br />preview ride on the new Sound Transit Light Rail. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy congratulated Tom Hingson on his retirement and attended the Safe <br />Community Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne congratulated Tom Hingson on his retirement and was able to attend the <br />preview ride on the new Sound Transit Light Rail. <br />
