If the Contractor requests a change to the JMF that is approved, <br />6 the material produced after the change will be evaluated on the basis of the new JMF for <br />7 the remaining sublots in the current lot and for acceptance of subsequent lots. For a lot in <br />8 progress with a CPF less than 0.75, a new lot will begin at the Contractors request after <br />9 the Engineer is satisfied that material conforming to the Specifications can be produced. <br />10 <br />11 Sampling and testing for evaluation shall be performed on the frequency of one sample <br />12 per sublot. <br />13 <br />14 5-04.3(9)C2 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation Sampling <br />15 Samples for acceptance testing shall be obtained by the Contractor when ordered by the <br />16 Engineer. The Contractor shall sample the HMA mixture in the presence of the Engineer <br />17 and in accordance with AASHTO T 168. A minimum of three samples should be taken for <br />18 each class of HMA placed on a project. If used in a structural application, at least one of <br />19 the three samples shall to be tested. <br />20 <br />21 Sampling and testing HMA in a Structural application where quantities are less than 400 <br />22 tons is at the discretion of the Engineer. <br />23 <br />24 For HMA used in a structural application and with a total project quantity less than 800 <br />25 tons but more than 400 tons, a minimum of one acceptance test shall be performed. In all <br />26 cases, a minimum of 3 samples will be obtained at the point of acceptance, a minimum of <br />27 one of the three samples will be tested for conformance to the JMF: <br />28 <br />29 •If the test results are found to be within specification requirements, additional <br />30 testing will be at the Engineers discretion. <br />31 •If test results are found not to be within specification requirements, additional <br />32 testing of the remaining samples to determine a Composite Pay Factor (CPF) shall <br />33 be performed. <br />34 <br />35 5-04.3(9)C3 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation Acceptance Testing <br />36 Testing of HMA for compliance of Va will at the option of the Contracting Agency. If <br />37 tested, compliance of Va will use WSDOT SOP 731. <br />38 <br />39 Testing for compliance of asphalt binder content will be by WSDOT FOP for AASHTO T <br />40 308. <br />41 <br />42 Testing for compliance of gradation will be by FOP for WAQTC T 27/T 11. <br />43 <br />44 5-04.3(9)C4 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation Pay Factors
