18TH STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS 3741 RMT July 03, 2024 2 FDESWORK1.FR1.docx 1 (March 13, 1995) 2 This Contract provides for the improvement of ***the construction of new sidewalk and 3 associated appurtenances along 18th Street between Maple Street and Jackson Park which 4 will include curb ramps, storm drainage pipes and inlets, modular block wall retaining walls, 5 fence and landscaping restoration*** and other work, all in accordance with the attached 6 Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. 7 8 1-01.3.RTF 9 1-01.3 Definitions 10 (January 19, 2022 APWA GSP) 11 12 Delete the heading Completion Dates and the three paragraphs that follow it, and replace 13 them with the following: 14 15 Dates 16 Bid Opening Date 17 The date on which the Contracting Agency publicly opens and reads the Bids. 18 Award Date 19 The date of the formal decision of the Contracting Agency to accept the lowest 20 responsible and responsive Bidder for the Work. 21 Contract Execution Date 22 The date the Contracting Agency officially binds the Agency to the Contract. 23 Notice to Proceed Date 24 The date stated in the Notice to Proceed on which the Contract time begins. 25 Substantial Completion Date 26 The day the Engineer determines the Contracting Agency has full and unrestricted 27 use and benefit of the facilities, both from the operational and safety standpoint, any 28 remaining traffic disruptions will be rare and brief, and only minor incidental work, 29 replacement of temporary substitute facilities, plant establishment periods, or 30 correction or repair remains for the Physical Completion of the total Contract. 31 Physical Completion Date 32 The day all of the Work is physically completed on the project. All documentation 33 required by the Contract and required by law does not necessarily need to be 34 furnished by the Contractor by this date. 35 Completion Date 36 The day all the Work specified in the Contract is completed and all the obligations of 37 the Contractor under the contract are fulfilled by the Contractor. All documentation 38 required by the Contract and required by law must be furnished by the Contractor 39 before establishment of this date. 40 Final Acceptance Date 41 The date on which the Contracting Agency accepts the Work as complete. 42 43 Supplement this Section with the following: 44 45 All references in the Standard Specifications or WSDOT General Special Provisions, to 46 the terms “Department of Transportation”, “Washington State Transportation 47 Commission”, “Commission”, “Secretary of Transportation”, “Secretary”, “Headquarters”, 48 and “State Treasurer” shall be revised to read “Contracting Agency”. 49 50
