18TH STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS 3741 RMT July 03, 2024 63 1 2 8-02.3(11).GR8 3 Mulch 4 5 8-02.3(11).INST1.GR8 6 Section 8-02.3(11) is supplemented with the following: 7 8 F8-02.3(11).OPT1.FR8.docx 9 (April 2, 2012) 10 Bark mulch or wood chip mulch shall be placed to a uniform non-compacted depth 11 of *** 3 INCHES *** over all planting areas. 12 13 Bark or wood chip mulch shall not be placed in areas of standing or flowing water. 14 15 COE 8-04 Curbs.RTF 16 8-04 CURBS, GUTTERS, AND SPILLWAYS 17 (******) 18 19 SECTION 8-04.1 OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IS DELETED AND REPLACED BY 20 THE FOLLOWING: 21 22 8-04.1 Description 23 24 "Cement Concrete Curb and Gutter Type A-1", "Cement Concrete Curb Type ___" and 25 "Asphalt Concrete Curb", shall be in accordance with Section 8-04 of the Standard 26 Specifications as modified in these Special Provisions and shall conform to the 27 Construction Plans and Standard Drawings. 28 29 SECTION 8-04.3(1) OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IS SUPPLEMENTED BY 30 THE FOLLOWING: 31 32 8-04.3 Construction Requirements 33 34 8-04.3(1) Cement Concrete Curbs, Gutters, and Spillways 35 36 Joints shall be dummy joints at a maximum spacing of 15' with 1/2" through-37 expansion joints at beginning of curves, at curb return tangency points, at each side 38 of catch basins, and at driveways. 39 40 The subbase for curb and gutter sections shall be compacted to 95% density at 41 optimum moisture content before placing the curb and gutter. 42 43 The top of the finished concrete shall not deviate more than 1/8" in 10', nor the 44 alignment 1/4" in 10'. 45 46 Where shown on the plans, or as directed by the Engineer, the concrete curb will be 47 depressed for wheelchair ramps and driveways, per Standard Drawing Nos. 313, 48 318, 319, 320, 321, and 322. 49
