18TH STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS 3741 RMT July 03, 2024 68 8-21.1 Description 1 2 Permanent signing shall be installed in accordance with Section 8-21 of the Standard 3 Specifications with the following modifications: 4 5 Traffic regulatory signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 716. 6 Street name signs shall be installed in accordance with Everett Standard Plan 715 or 717 7 and 718 as indicated on the plans. 8 9 8-21.2 Materials 10 11 This section is revised to read: 12 13 All signs shown in the plans with a mounting height of 14 feet and below shall be 14 manufactured with a protective overlay film. The protective overlay film shall be a 15 transparent, self adhesive film that is solvent resistant and approved for use by the 16 reflective sheeting manufacturer. 17 18 8-21.2(1) Equipment List and Drawings 19 20 A) Shop Drawings for Signs: Within 20 days following execution of the contract, 21 or approval of subcontractor, the contractor shall submit shop drawings for 22 the traffic signs to be used on the project. Within 20 days following approval 23 of the shop drawings, the contractor shall submit a letter to the engineer 24 certifying that the signs have been ordered and certifying the manufacturer’s 25 planned delivery date. 26 27 The traffic signs shall be approved by the engineer in writing prior to the actual 28 ordering of the equipment. 29 30 31 8-21.3 Construction Requirements 32 33 8-21.3(4) Sign Removal 34 35 This section is revised to read: 36 37 Where shown in the Plans or ordered by the Engineer, the existing signs and, if so 38 indicated, the sign structures shall be removed by the Contractor. Where indicated, 39 the Contractor shall remove concrete pedestals to a minimum of 1 foot below finished 40 grade and backfill the hole to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Where an existing sign 41 post is located within a sidewalk area, the Contractor shall remove the post and finish 42 the area to make the sidewalk continuous. Wood signs, wood sign posts, wood 43 structures, metal sign posts, windbeams, and other metal structural members shall 44 become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the project. 45 Aluminum signs shall remain the property of the City of Everett. 46 47 48 GSL 8-26 MOD BLOCK WALL.docx 49 8-26 CEMENT CONCRETE MODULAR BLOCK RETAINING WALL 50 Section 8-26 is vacant and is replaced with the following: 51
