18TH STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS 3741 RMT July 03, 2024 67 (******) 1 It is expected there will be sufficient suitable native material excavated from various 2 portions of the improvement to fill low areas in the sidewalk subgrade and planting 3 strip area when needed and no further payment will be allowed for fill material. 4 Where there is insufficient suitable native material on the project site, the 5 Contractor shall furnish, place and compact CSBC meeting the requirements of 6 Section 4-04 of these Specifications. 7 8 9 8-14.3(6) Curb Ramp 10 11 Section 8-14.3 (6) is new and is supplemented with the following: 12 (******) 13 Curb ramp locations will be designated on the drawings or marked in the field by 14 the Engineer. Where curb ramps are to be constructed, the Contractor shall 15 construct curb ramp in accordance to the City of Everett Standard Drawing #318, 16 319, 320, 321, or WSDOT Standard Drawings F-40.12-02, F-40.14-02, F-40.15-02, 17 F-40.16-02, F-45.10-01. 18 19 Curb ramps shall be constructed separately from the sidewalk to produce a definite 20 break line between the ramp and the sidewalk. A 3/8 inch non-extruded through 21 joint material shall be installed between the curb and the sidewalk with edging as 22 specified in Section 8-14.3(3). 23 24 8-14.5 Payment 25 26 Section 8-14.5 is supplemented with the following: 27 28 (******) 29 30 "Cement Conc. Curb Ramp Type ___ ", per Each. 31 32 Above Bid Item(s) do not include the adjacent Curb, Curb and Gutter, Pedestrian Curb or 33 Sidewalks. 34 35 Any sidewalk not acceptable in the opinion of the Engineer, because of damage, 36 defacement, or carelessness on the part of the Contractor shall be removed, replaced 37 and paid for in accordance to Section 1-05.7 (Removal of Defective and Unauthorized 38 Work) of these provisions. 39 40 The placement of the CSBC under the new Cement Conc. Sidewalk shall be measured 41 and paid in accordance to Section 4-04. 42 43 COE 8-21 SIGNING.RTF 44 8-21 PERMANENT SIGNING 45 46
