September 11, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., September 11, <br />2024, by President Schwab. <br /> <br />President Schwab stated Mayor Franklin needed to attend a September 11th speaking <br />engagement and invited her to provide comments at the start of the meeting. <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on balancing the 2025 budget, voluntary separation <br />agreements, layoffs, reduction in workhours, mandatory furloughs, and other cost reductions. <br />She also provided comments on Boeing, the Safe Streets For All Action Plan that was just recently <br />launched, and grant received from Puget Sound Regional Council, to create a roadway action plan <br />– Vision Zero. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin also provided comments in remembrance of the 23rd anniversary of September <br />11th. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Vogeli, Fosse, <br />Rhyne, Bader, and President Schwab were present. Council Member Tuohy was excused. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin left the meeting at 6:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Fosse recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />President Schwab removed Agenda Item No. 12 – Council Procedures Resolution, from tonight’s <br />agenda for further discussion. <br /> <br />The minutes of the September 4, 2024, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received (1) one written comment, and the following member of the public spoke: <br />Roxana Boroujerdi <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Vice President Zarlingo attended the Snohomish County Land Conservation Strategy meeting.
