September 25, 2024 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., September 25, <br />2024, by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Rhyne, Schwab, Zarlingo, <br />Bader and Tuohy were present. Council Members Fosse and Vogeli were excused. <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Rhyne recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the September 18, 2024, meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on National Week Without Driving next week. She also <br />shared information regarding a grant to support the Police Health and Wellness Program. She <br />also stated she issued a proclamation declaring September 29th as Veterans of Foreign Wars Day. <br />Mayor Franklin welcomed Police Chief John DeRousse to provide an update on the Flock Camera <br />Program and introduce a new police officer. <br />OATH – POLICE OFFICER <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to concur with the <br />appointment of Seth Zaragoza as a new police officer. <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse and Vogeli <br />who were excused. <br />Motion carried. <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office, Mayor Franklin pinned the officer with their badge, <br />and Council members congratulated Officer Zaragoza. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />There were no members of the public who spoke.
