or any like narcotic, shall keep a suitable book in which he shall <br /> keep a record of the amount of all purchases and shall keep a record <br /> of all sales, setting forth the amount sold, the date and to whom <br /> a. <br /> 1 sold and the price received for the same and shall keep/record of <br /> 2 all prescriptions issued for the sale of any narcotic mentioned in <br /> 3 this ordinance, setting forth the amount sold, the date and to whom <br /> 4 sold and the price received for the same, which record shall be open <br /> 5 to inspection at any time by any officer. <br /> 6 Section 4 : It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, <br /> 7 or corporation, except authorized persons to have in their possession <br /> 8 any opium, morphine, cocaine, hydrate of chloral or any like narcotic , <br /> 9 the principal ingredient of whfch is opium, or any narcotic substance <br /> 10 or preparation derived in any part from and containing as the principal <br /> 11 ingredient any opium, morphine, cocaine, hydrate of chloral or any <br /> 12 like narcotic, without first having procurred a prescription from a <br /> 13 reputable physician to purchase the same. <br /> 14 Section 5 :Every apothecary, pharmacist, druggist or <br /> 15 other person or persons engaged in the purchasing, selling or exchang. <br /> 16 ing of any narcotic mentioned in this ordinance shall not later than <br /> 17 the fifth day of each and every calendar montl2,make, under oath, <br /> 18 report al to the Commissioner of Public Safety of the City of <br /> 19 Everett for the proceeding month, which report shall show the amount <br /> 20 of narcotics purchased and sold for said calendar month, reporting <br /> 21 for the amount on hand and the name of each and every person to whom <br /> 22 any narcotic has been sold, giving the date, amount, the price as in <br /> 23 this ordinance provided. <br /> 24 Section 6 : '..ny apothecary, pharmacist, druggist, <br /> 25 corporation or other person or persons violating any of the provisions <br /> 26 of this ordinance shall be fined in a sum not to exceed 100.00 or <br /> 27 by imprisonment for a period of thirty (30)days in the City Jail or <br /> 28 by both such fine and imprisonment.sonment. <br /> 29 . ___ __._�... __ �._. _.___ ----- <br /> Mayor. <br /> _..� <br /> . _ <br /> Mayor. <br /> 30 Passed: F r _ _ ____, <br /> 31 Attest•___ ` a <br /> — <br /> clerk. <br /> Published: February 9th , 1922 <br />
