MINIMUM REQUIREMENT #2 — SWPPP
SWPPP Element 1: Preserve Vegetation and Marking Clearing Limits
Site disturbance limits will be shown on the SWPPP as part of the construction plans, and
will ultimately create a disturbance area of approximately 65,000 square feet. This
disturbance area is currently mostly grass area, with some existing paving.
SWPPP Element 2: Establish Construction Access
Construction access will come from the alley south of the site. A temporary gravel
construction access BMP shall be utilized at this access point. It is likely that occasional
alley cleaning will be necessary, and notes in the TESC plan call for this if needed.
SWPPP Element 3: Control Flow Rates
Due to the relatively small size of the two on-site basins and sandy subsurface soils, the
runoff increase during construction is expected to be small. Therefore this Element is not
applicable.
SWPPP Element 4: Install Sediment Controls
Silt fence shall be installed across the downslope side of the disturbance area prior to
construction activities, as well as straw wattles in the more defined draws, as shown on the
TESC plan. An interceptor swale around the infiltration facility can be used to divert
sediment-laden water around the facility.
Maintenance and function requirements are included in the construction notes. These
BMPs should be adequate for a project of this size. The plans also contain cover
measures for exposed soils to prevent sediment from being generated.
SWPPP Element 5: Stabilize Soils
The plans depict cover and stabilization measures for excavated soils and exposed
ground. Notes limiting duration of exposure are also included on the plan.
Permanent soil stabilization will be achieved with paving, or with landscaping and/or lawn,
including BMP T5.13 — Post construction soil quality for disturbed areas, which is included
in the plan notes. The flat slopes in the development area should make stabilization
feasible with these measures.
SWPPP Element 6: Protect Slopes
There are no significant slopes within or immediately adjacent to the development area.
Therefore, this Element is not applicable.
SWPPP Element 7: Protect Permanent Drain Inlets
Inlet protection and maintenance of such shall be provided as shown on the TESC plan.
SWPPP Element 8: Stabilize Channels and Outlets
There are no existing channels in the vicinity of the development area, and all areas
outside the development area are currently well-vegetated and stable. Therefore, this
q
