<br />2.3.6 Final Acceptance is the formal action of the City accepting the Work as complete. <br />2.3.7 Progress and Completion <br />a. All time limits stated in the Job Orders are of the essence of this Contract. <br />b. The Contractor shall begin the Work on the date indicated in the Notice to Proceed <br />and shall diligently prosecute the Work with adequate equipment and forces in order <br />to bring the Work to completion within the Job Order Completion Time. <br />2.4 Extension of Time <br />Any extension of Job Order Completion Time must have the written approval of the Project <br />Manager/City and must conform to the procedures set forth in Article 10.3. <br />2.5 Before Starting Work <br />2.5.1 Before undertaking each part of the Work, Contractor shall carefully study and compare <br />the Detailed Scope of Work and check and verify pertinent figures shown thereon and all <br />applicable field measurements. Contractor shall promptly report in writing to Project <br />Manager any conflict, error or discrepancy which Contractor may discover; however, <br />Contractor shall not be liable to City for failure to report any conflict, error or discrepancy <br />in the Detailed Scope of Work, Drawings or Specifications, unless Contractor had actual <br />knowledge thereof or should reasonably have known thereof. <br />2.5.2 If requested, within five (5) days after the effective date of the Notice to Proceed and prior <br />to start of work (unless otherwise specified in the General Requirements), Contractor shall <br />submit to Project Manager for review a preliminary Schedule of the Values of the work. <br />Each bid item shall be broken down to its basic elements. The cost breakdown for both <br />lump sum and unit price estimates shall include: <br />a. Labor; <br />b. Materials; <br />c. Equipment; <br />d. Overhead, profit and taxes; <br />e. Other factors; <br />f. Time required. <br />2.5.3 If requested, within ten (10) days after the effective date of the Notice to Proceed and prior <br />to start of Work, unless otherwise specified in the General Requirements, Contractor is to <br />submit to Project Manager for review an estimated Progress Schedule indicating the <br />starting and completion dates of the various stages of the Work and a Preliminary Schedule <br />of Shop Drawings submissions. The Schedule should include a bar chart. The Contractor <br />may use a commercial scheduling program such as the “Microsoft Project” or equal. All <br />submissions of schedule information to the Project Manager or other city representatives <br />are to be provided in hard copy format and electronic format. <br />
