3. The proposed revisions to the format of the Zoning Code and other related <br /> amendments to the code are consistent with the Everett Comprehensive Plan; <br /> 4. The proposed amendments bear a substantial relation to the public welfare; and <br /> 5. The proposed amendments promote the best long term interests of the Everett <br /> community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 1.020.3 of Ordinance#1671-89, as amended(EMC 19.01.020.3) <br /> which reads as follows: <br /> 3. The purpose of the community business zone is <br /> to provide for retail businesses and services designed to serve the needs of several <br /> neighborhoods, and allow for businesses which are oriented to arterial streets. <br /> Adult use businesses are permitted uses, consistent with the purpose and intent of <br /> this zone, provided they meet the Locational Requirements of Section 39.025.A. <br /> Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 2. B-2 Community Business Zone. The purpose of the community business zone is <br /> to provide for retail businesses and services designed to serve the needs of several <br /> neighborhoods, allow for the development of multiple family housing and mixed <br /> use commercial and multiple family residential use, and allow for businesses <br /> which are oriented to arterial streets. Adult use businesses are permitted uses, <br /> consistent with the purpose and intent of this zone, provided they meet the <br /> Locational Requirements of Section 39.025.A. <br />
