"'very 10 such building, hail, room, pavilion or other place used for public 11 dancing shall bekept in a clean andsanitary condition. All buildings, 12 halls, rooms, pavilions or other places i n which public dances are 13 carried on, as well as all halls, corridors and other rooms leading 14 thereto or connecting therewith daall at oil times, while open to the 15 public, be fully lighted, and every public dance-hall or any place 16 wherein public dances are carried on, °as provided in this ordinance 17 shall at all times be kept in a clean, healthful, and sanitary condi. 18 tion, and all stairways, halls, passages and rooms connected with 19 such dance-halls shall be kept open and well lighted. 20 After sunset every such dance-hall shall be lighted or illumin- 21 ated btr either gas or electricity, or other means, in such manner 22 and to such an extent as is usual or customary of like dimensions in 23 the night time for public assemblies, before any person is admitted 24 thereto and before any dance or dancing is commended therein; pro.• 25 vided however, that the intensity of such lighting or illumination 26 shall at no time be less than foot candle at a place ofthree feet 27 above the floor of such hall at all parts; such lighting or ilium n.. 28 ation shall be,maintained thereafter throughout the entire time while 29 such dance or dancing is in progress, and during any recess or other 30 intermission, without dimunition and without interruption until such 31 dance is concluded, and until such hall is cleared and closed, and -3.
