f.-
mmom
JUN 0 6 2024
June 3, 2024 CITY OF EVERETT
Permit Services
Yin Lu, RA
Associate Engineer—Building Plans Examiner
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett,WA 98201
Project: Bridge Point Everett 500 Fastsigns TI, AHBL No. 2240069.20
Subject: Response to Comments dated May 9, 2024
Commercial Building Review for B2403-091
Dear Yin Lu:
This letter is in response to only the"General"and "Structural" comments in your letter dated
May 9, 2024, regarding the above referenced project. The comments are included below
(verbatim)for your reference. Our responses are shown in bold after each comment.
General
1. The mezzanine framing plan provided on sheet S1.1 appears to be cropped in such a
way that specific engineering notation for the purpose of construction cannot be read.
Please revise, and any other margin errors alike, per section 107.2 of the 2018 IBC.
Response: AutoCAD window adjusted to show all tent.
Structural
1. Please provide anchorage calculations for the connections between the existing
walls/beams and any new structural elements whose reactions subject existing elements
to new loading. Additionally, please provide calculations which apply structural analysis
to the reactions propagated throughout the existing building elements due to the
alteration in a manner which provides a complete load path (see Section 1.4 of ASCE 7-
16). Alternatively, provide an evaluation meeting the provisions of Sections 503.3 and
503.4 of the 2018 IEBC (or via non-prescriptive methods)that shows that the addition
will not require retrofit to the existing structure due to either gravity or seismic.
Response: Refer to attached additional calculations in the addendum.
2. It appears that Details 4/S3.1 and 5/S3.1 show a Simpson HTT hold-down which is not
shown on the architectural plans and may impede the walkways/rooms of the mezzanine
floor. Please coordinate this design with the architectural sheets.
Response: The HTT hold downs are at the exterior walls. Architect and contractor
are aware of the hold downs, which are going to be in the insulated wall areas
inset from the tilt wall panels. The contractor is installing a special felt-type
flooring over the straps and then a wood subfloor over the top, so the straps are 2215 North 30th Street
not going to be an issue.
