ORDINANCE NO. 19.24.__.�. 1 An Ordinance proposing to the voters of the city of Everett, 2 Washington, that the city of Everett, acquire, by purchase or con- 3 demnation, the electric light and power system now used, for the pur- 4 pose of supplying the city of Everett and the inhabitants thereof 5 with electrical energy for light and power purposes, and all proper- 6 ty and rights of every kind used in connection with said electric 7 system, as a part thereof, reasonably necessary for the city' s 8 operation thereof, and that the same be acquired for the purpose of 9 supplying the city of Everett and the inhabitants thereof with 10 electrical energy for light, heat , fuel and power purposes , public 11 and private and thereafter to maintain and operate the same with 12 electricity generated or purchased by said city, and should the prop- 13 er officers of said city deem it advisable so to do , that said city 14 shall construct, maintain and operate a hydro-electric plant, with 15 all necessary and convenient appurtenances thereto upon the Sultan 16 River or its tributaries, for the purposes of generating electrical 17 energy for use in said system and also that it acquire or construct, 18 maintain and operate such auxiliary steam power plants as may be 19 necessary in the operation of said light, heat , fuel and power 20 system and also construct or acquire, maintain and operate a trans- 21 mission line from said hydro-electric power stations or other source 22 of supply, to the city of Everett, and that said city acquire by 23 purchase or condemnation any land, water or water-rights, rights-of- 24 way or other land or personal property necessary or useful in the 25 construction or operation of said plant, specifying and adopting a 26 system or plan in the above proposals and declaring the estimated serial 27 cost thereof, as nearly asmay be, authorizing the issuance of revenue, 28 negotiable coupon bonds in an amount not to exceed two million 29 dollars, providing for the creation of a special fund to pay the 30 principal and interest of said bonds, creating a special fund for the 31 purpose of paying the cost of acquiring and operating said system and -1-
