providing for the holding of an election at itlich the qualified vot- <br /> 1 <br /> ers of the city of Everett may vote for or against said proposition. <br /> 2 <br /> %°�S, it is deemed advisable by the city council of the city <br /> 3 <br /> of Everett , that said city shall acquire, own and operate the <br /> 4 <br /> electric light and power system now used in said city, for the pur- <br /> 5 <br /> pose of providing said city and its inhabitants with electrical <br /> 6 <br /> energy for light, heat, fuel and power purposes, public and private, <br /> 7 <br /> and that it operate the same with electricity purchased by said city <br /> 8 <br /> or generated by it; and should the corporate authorities deem it <br /> 9 <br /> advisable so to do , that said city shall construct, maintain and <br /> 10 <br /> operate, as a part of said system, a hydro-electric plant upon the <br /> 11 <br /> Sultan River, or its tributaries, together with a transmission line <br /> 12 <br /> from said hydro-electric power station, or other source of supply, to <br /> 13 <br /> the city of Everett , with such auxiliary steam power plants as may <br /> 14 <br /> be necessary, with all necessary appurtenances thereto, all in <br /> 15 <br /> accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, now therefore <br /> 16 <br /> 17 T1fl CITY OF EVL+'R.ETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 18 <br /> Section 1 : That public interest and welfare require that the <br /> 19 <br /> city of Everett acquire and operate an electric light, heat , fuel and <br /> 20 <br /> power system within the city of Everett, for the purpose of provid- <br /> 21 <br /> ing the city of Everett and the inhabitants thereof with electrical <br /> 22 <br /> energy for light , heat , fuel and power purposes, public and private, <br /> 23 <br /> and that it provide for a source from which electrical energy may be <br /> 24 <br /> obtained for use in said electric light , and power system. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Section 2: That the city council of the city of Everett hereby <br /> 27 specifies and adopts the system or plan proposed for the acquiring, <br /> 28 maintenance and operation of an electric light , heat , fuel and power <br /> 29 system for the purpose of supplying the city of Everett and the in- <br /> 30 habitants thereof with electrical energy for light , heat, fuel and <br /> 31 power purposes, public and private, as follows , to-wit : <br /> -2- <br />
